Who Are You People

We eat at restaurants. In Birmingham. And we do it a lot.

Greetings and welcome to bham.food. Did you know you can get a website that’s .food now? I didn’t either until I decided to do this.

I am The Reviewer. I live in Birmingham, Alabama. My spouse is Mrs. Reviewer. We go out to eat a lot. Because we go out to eat a lot, we also talk about restaurants a lot. And because this is America where you can subject the public to your bad opinions (within reason) if you want to, we decided we wanted to share some of these conversations with the world.

I’m not 100% sure what exactly this website will be, I do know what it is not. We don’t do sponsored posts, and none of the words here are AI. Some of the graphics are AI because I am bad at graphics. But all the words here are my/our fault exclusively. A lot of review sites out there these days are full of either sponsored posts and/or generated words, and that probably doesn’t want to tell you what you want to know about a place where you’re about to drop $130 for a couple of mid cocktails and a fish special that is fairly non-descript.

But don’t let that last sentence give you the wrong impression. We are honest, but we’re fair. And these are like, our opinions, man. You don’t even have to like them.

And opinions on food are intensely personal. I am very partial to a few dishes here in the ‘Ham that would be at home in a Michelin starred (1 star, to be exact) restaurant. I also like the Club Melt at Buc-ee’s. You like what you like.

So, to expose our own biases, here are our restaurant “profiles,” if you will:

BOTH THE REVIEWERS: We’ve been to some places. We expect certain levels of service. Nothing turns us off faster than inattentiveness. We like sitting at the bar. We like tables that aren’t directly next to the door or directly behind the host’s stand.
